Just a new thread to liven up this fairly dead tribe.
Maybe It'd be best to say something offensive like "all brits are ugly" or some such eh wot?

Re: new thread
Tue, October 10, 2006 - 1:57 PMspeaking as a brit......bite me.
and that's as much venom as i can be bothered to muster on that one. i know you got better shit stirring in you than that luv! bring it on. you can do it! lets see who can be the most offensive........dazzle me!
tony blair is a genious, we should all storm the streets and ask if we can keep him forever. and if we can have bush as well as they look so damned cute together. i want to be ruled by them always. ditch the whole farce of election and just let labour what they please. it's not like anyone really pays any attention.

Tue, October 10, 2006 - 9:25 PMLOL!!! Cliff, you American beauty, thanks for making me laugh.
It's true, this tribe is melting away. Is there nothing worth talking about in the UK these days? No celeb gossip? No political scandal? Not even a comment about the weather?

Re: new thread
Wed, October 11, 2006 - 10:48 AMNot a lot, no.
Who gives a toss about celebrity nonentities anyway?
The most exciting thing about politics is the good possibility of a hung parliament next election.
The weather is warmly autumnal, with storms. -

Re: new thread
Wed, October 11, 2006 - 5:54 PMAll britts are ugly?
Geez, I will be in the UK over the Winter Solstice and I want to be surrounded by nice people who are, prefferably, not ugly.
Geez.
How about you all sharing a good spot in or around London for a Yank to check out.
Tors, of course, but how about good antique shops or neat book shops.
So, bring me up to speed.
Waht do you love about it?
I will, I promise come again in Summer and get all over so please you do not have to keep your input to London and the surrounding 100 miles or so but this time that will be most useful.

Re: new thread
Wed, October 11, 2006 - 6:16 PMYou could take a daytrip to the "city of the dreaming spires" (Oxford). It's about 50 miles West and you can catch a train from Paddington, if I am not mistaken. Or a coach from the Victoria Coach Station. You don't need to do anything special, just walk down the streets (especially down the cobbled side streets) and admire the architecture, maybe go into one or two of the colleges as well. Christ Church, Balliol, Queens, to name just a few of the most beautiful ones.
Have fun! -

Re: new thread
Wed, October 11, 2006 - 6:27 PMalas i'd not really recommend where i currentlylive, although the peak district around it is rather stunning if youlike walking or driving in the country. stratford upon avon i remember as a good place to go. see the royal shakespeare theatre put on a show. it's been a few years but they really were very good. coming from one who doesnot like will. unless you like concrete and malls avoid milton keynes. salisbury was pretty, and you'd be within spitting distance of stonehenge.
where ever you end up. hope it gives you some fantastic memories! it's not all bad! :) -

I have seen a good bit of the World and live here because I choose too not just because I am from here.
I remeber parts of England that were nice too form 10 years ago.
